Other financial players in the stock market
1. NSCCL & ICCL: National Security Clearing Corporation Ltd.& Indian Clearing Corporation are the clearing houses for NSE & BSE. The role of these clearinghouses is to ensure the timely settlement of your executed trades.
For example, if you have purchased one share of company XYZ at the price of ₹500, someone must have sold one share at the price of ₹500. Thus, the role of a clearinghouse is:
a. Identify buyer & seller. Match the debit & credit transactions. In the above example, the clearing corporation will ensure that the shares are debited from the seller’s demat account & credited into the buyer’s demat account.
b. To ensure that buyer or seller do not back out of the transaction, defaulting in payment or transferring shares.
The concept of NSCCL & ICCL is in similar lines with that of clearinghouse of banks.
2. Banks: The bank account is linked with your trading account, facilitating the smooth fund transfer from your bank account to your trading account. More than one bank accounts can be linked to the trading account, keeping one account as your primary bank account.
You can transfer funds from all the accounts, but the payouts like dividends, buyback money & withdrawals will always be credited to the primary bank account.
