After Uddhav Thackeray Resigns as Maharashtra CM, BJP Claims Support of 170 MLAs

Maharashtra BJP pioneer Girish Mahajan on Thursday guaranteed that his party has the help of 170 MLAs, way over the 145 greater part mark in the 288-part House that is important to frame an administration in the state.

The BJP is set to get back to drive in the state with the backing of radical Shiv Sena MLAs drove by Eknath Shinde after boss pastor Uddhav Thackeray offered his abdication on Wednesday night, prompting the breakdown of the 31-extended three-party Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

Addressing correspondents here, previous pastor Mahajan said, "We have a help of 170 MLAs. We can easily confront a story test at whatever point we are approached to demonstrate larger part." The BJP's solidarity in the House is 106, and it professes to have the help of something like 13 lawmakers.

In the mean time, sources said that Eknath Shinde will arrive at Mumbai from Goa this evening to hold discusses government development with BJP pioneers. Shinde had arrived in Goa from Guwahati on Wednesday night with a gathering of 50 MLAs, of whom 39 are Sena nonconformists, while others are free lawmakers and those from little gatherings.

It isn't yet clear if the Shinde-drove gathering will converge with any party. Shinde Wednesday night repeated that they are Shiv Sainiks and will stay in Shiv Sena.
